The Battle of the Bloggers was one of the most eclectic nights of music I’ve ever had! Techno, soul, indie, electro, hip-hop, pop, rock and roll, disco and everything in between was doled out throughout ELEVEN DJ sets. I don’t know how we did it!

February 17, 2009It’s Blog Awards Week this week, and SoundCheck is getting some SERIOUS action.
For the first time ever, the cream of the Irish blogosphere will descend into one club, ready to take part in the ultimate DJ battle. From 7pm sharp, the musical taste makers breakers and fakers will hit Spy on South William Street for a very special SoundCheck, and rip it up with the freshest indie and beyond.
Ten of Ireland’s best bloggers will DJ to the death, throwing down the best tunes possible in order to assert their awesomeness over their rivals.

Free in before 11pm, fiver after, goes to 2.30am. Le Cirque will be banging from 11pm upstairs too. Two-for-One cocktails, free nerd cakes, blogger special: €4 vodka and anything incl. Red Bull.

Checking all the way to Friday the 13th
February 13, 2009Great buzz last night, rock on to everyone who came down. Loved the tunes from So Cow kicking everything off with Japanese and Korean fun. Dublin Duck Dispensary rocked it old school with some punk and rock and roll and the party went from there with kDamo and the awesomely named Rack Pack kicking that indie in. UnaRocks played till the end and there was some serious dancing. (photees from last night to follow)
