New Year’s Eve Party

Alright folks, get ready for an awesome party to blast of ‘09.

SoundCheck are delighted to be part of Spy and Wax’s Access All Areas New Years Eve bash.

Here’s the deal; three floors, five bars, and some serious vibes. Spy nights including Gossip, SoundCheck, Rubberband will be going head to head in different rooms to give you a perfectly rounded party atmosphere. Loads of different types of music, and serious fun!

It’s only a tenner in, and you can book your tickets at tickets.ie/spy. Oh, and check this out, if you buy 6 tickets in advance, and get to Spy before 10pm you get a free bottle of bubbly. Sorted!

Festivities kick off at 9pm.

Last night was our Best. Night. Yet. So fucking fun. The place was jammers and the vibe was off the chain. It’s the best mix of people we’ve ever seen in a club in Dublin, which was always our goal, to create something different, and to prove that you didn’t just have to be ‘one thing’ to draw a crowd, that you could be a whole lot of things, and a whole lot of different people would party as one, as long as those whole lot of things were a whole lot of awesome things.

Last night we did that; rich kids, broke kids, drag queens, clubber kids, nerds, indie heads, bloggers, djs, models, several bands, dykes, gays, artists, students, those enough to know better and those who still dont, journos, friends, rockers, scenesters, photographers, and fucking legends for one night and everything and everyone in between.

Big BIG ups to Universal, Derek & Rick for the screening of Role Models beforehand, Conor Le Shark, Dublin Streets, Vinny Club, Fight Like Apes & Bitches With Wolves – what a line-up, what dancing, what tunes, what fun!

If you weren’t there, hell, you missed a fucking cracker. Le Cirque was off the hook upstairs too.

The Chancer, Rick, myself and SoundCheck are hooking up with our homies @ Universal Pictures Internatational Ireland to sort you out with a free screening of the savage new movie Role Models before the SoundCheck XXXmas Party next Thursday (18th).

Role Models stars Paul Rudd (Anchorman, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Sean William Scott (American Pie) and – YES! – Mc Lovin from Superbad. It’s directed by David Wain.

The Chancer is calling it the first great movie of 2009, and he knows his stuff, so we believe him.

We’re having a FREE, BLOG-TACULAR PRE-CHRISTMAS PREVIEW SCREENING at CINEWORLD, PARNELL STREET, DUBLIN on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18th at 6.30. To score a ticket for two, RSVP at info@thechancer.ie immediately. First come, first served. Tell everybody.

After that, we all hit SoundCheck and party the night away, woohoo!

The Streets and the Orchestra

Yo! We iz back!

This Thursday, we’re starting late so we’ll be rolling from 11pm until 2.30am in the Monkey Bar, with Le Cirque upstairs as usual.

And making sure this compressed party goes off majorly are the awesome Grand Pocket Orchestra, just fresh from supporting Fight Like Apes @ the sold-out Academy gig. These kids rock, and last time we had them DJing @ SoundCheck it was so much fun, so don’t miss ‘em.

And if that wasn’t enough, our monthly residents Dublin Streets will be bringing their stylish flavour to the decks.

UnaRocks and Sarah Fox will be throwing it down too, and we’ll have the usual awesome mix of cakes ‘n’ drink promos for y’all.

It’s December, make some Noize for Boys (and grrls)

Whaddup! Hope you’re enjoying the wintery coldness of December. Mulled wine, yumsies.

Oh, where were we?!

SoundCheck is handing over entertainment duties to the awesomeness that is Boys Noize this Thursday, so we will be on a hiatus until next Thursday (11th). Our homegirl Jane Le Cirque will be DJing before Boys Noize. Rock on! This is going to be a savage gig, really looking forward to it.

Next Thursday (11th), there are parties on in Spy, so we’ll be opening the doors at 11pm to our SoundCheck crew and wrecking the gaff with those crazy amazingettes @ Dublin Streets and one of our favourite bands, Grand Pocket Orchestra. UnaRocks and Miss Sarah June Fox will also be playing some tunes and passing the cakes around.

We’ve got a CRACKING Christmas party on the 18th with some very special guests, so stay tuned for the goss.

Now, we’re off to make a new batch of mulled wine before our homies Sweet Jane and A Place To Bury Strangers hit ALT tonight.
